Custom planters have a way of transforming a space. Whether it's your front porch, a restaurant patio, or the entryway to a downtown business, the right arrangement can welcome guests, brighten a corner, and bring fresh life to any setting. At Caras Nursery, we've been creating planters for decades, and we'd love to design one that feels just right for you.
You've likely seen our work around Missoula. Our planters decorate places like Plonk, Iron Horse, Old Chicago, and Panera, and you'll spot them in front yards and on porches throughout the community. Each one is grown and designed right here at the nursery, using plants we've nurtured in our own greenhouses.

How it Works

    We'll Talk Through the Details

    Our professional designers will walk you through a few key considerations:

    Lighting - Is your planter in full sun, partial shade, or somewhere in between?

    Backdrop - What surrounds the planter - brick walls, wooden decks, storefront windows?

    Other Plants Nearby - We will help coordinate your planter so it complements what is already there.

    Design Preferences - Do you prefer something bright and bold, soft and elegant, or a balanced mix? With a few simple design terms, we will help you describe what you like, then do the rest.

    Drop Off Your Planter

    Start with a container you love and bring it to us. We will fill it with fresh, healthy plants grown right here at Caras.

    If you do not have a planter yet, we can help you find one that fits your space and style.

    Our turnaround time is generally about two weeks from when you order to when your planter is ready to leave the greenhouse.

    Pick Up or Delivery

    For most homeowners, pick-up is the best option. Memorial Day is a great time to pick up residential planters, after the average last frost has passed.

    For commercial and downtown businesses, we are happy to arrange delivery when needed. Mothers Day and Graduation Weekend are ideal for downtown and commercial planters.
